Royal Osteoporosis Society joins as an affiliate charity of Our Future Health
Osteoporosis is a condition where bones lose strength, making them more likely to break. It affects over 3 million people in the UK. Half of women and 20% of men over 50 will break a bone because of osteoporosis.
The Royal Osteoporosis Society is the UK’s largest national charity dedicated to improving bone health and beating osteoporosis.
Our Future Health is joining with many of the UK’s leading health research charities who are providing valuable support and expertise to help develop Our Future Health. They will make a big impact in allowing us to ultimately change the way we prevent, detect and treat diseases.
Andrew Roddam, CEO of Our Future Health, said: “We are delighted to have the support of the Royal Osteoporosis Society as an affiliate charity of the programme. We look forward to collaborating with them to ensure Our Future Health effectively delivers life changing research for the many people impacted by osteoporosis.”
Craig Jones, CEO of the Royal Osteoporosis Society, said: “We know that early diagnosis and the right treatment are vital, so we’re pleased to be collaborating with Our Future Health’s research programme. Together we can beat osteoporosis.”
