Eczema UK

Eczema UK (formerly National  Eczema Society) is the UK charity for everyone affected by eczema. The charity is committed to improving the lives of everyone affected by eczema. It advocates for better medical care, supports ground-breaking research, provides expert information and advice, and raises awareness of the condition. Eczema UK’s vision is for a world free from eczema and the charity is committed to advancing eczema care through innovative research.

Eczema

Eczema, also known as dermatitis, is a dry skin condition which comes in different forms and varies from person to person. It is a complex inflammatory long-term condition involving the immune system, genetics, skin barrier and environment. In mild cases, it can cause dry, scaly and itchy skin, and severe cases of eczema can cause crusting, cracked skin and bleeding.

1 in 10 adults and 1 in 5 children have eczema, which is around 8 million people in the UK. Eczema UK supports research into ways to prevent, assess and treat eczema, and ultimately to find a cure.
