Our Future Health appointments now available on Sundays
Until now, appointments to join the programme have only been available on weekdays. The opening up of Sunday appointments is designed for people who can’t make a weekday slot. Sunday appointments will be held in existing hub locations and are one of the ways Our Future Health has taken on volunteer feedback to create more opportunities for people to take part in the programme.
Andrew Roddam, CEO of Our Future Health, said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer appointments on Sundays, making it more accessible and convenient for people to join Our Future Health. We want to involve everyone, so we can make discoveries that benefit all of us.”
What joining involves
At their appointment, volunteers have a blood sample taken, plus some physical measurements. They will also be offered information about their own health, including their blood pressure and cholesterol levels. In the future, people who join the programme will be given the option to receive feedback about their risk of diseases and also the opportunity to take part in cutting-edge research studies.
Where you can join
Our Sunday appointments will be available from 4 December at our current hub locations in Birmingham, Croydon, Huddersfield, Leeds, Manchester, Oldham, Stratford and Walsall.
Volunteers who don’t live near these locations can still register and we will notify them when new appointment locations near them become available. Our Future Health is rolling out on a region-by-region basis to invite adults across the UK to join the programme.
New locations will also be announced on the Our Future Health website and social media channels.
