Kidney Research UK joins as an affiliate charity of Our Future Health.

Kidney disease

Kidney disease affects three and a half million people in the UK. Treatments can be gruelling for patients and currently there is no cure.

As the leading charity dedicated to kidney research in the UK, their aim is to end kidney disease and support research that will offer kidney patients and their families hope for the future.

Affiliate charities

Our Future Health is joining with many of the UK’s leading health research charities who are providing valuable support and expertise to help develop Our Future Health. Their support in becoming an affiliate charity will make a big impact in allowing us to ultimately change the way we prevent, detect and treat diseases.

Andrew Roddam, CEO of Our Future Health, said: “We’re delighted to have the support of Kidney Research UK as we reach an exciting point in Our Future Health’s journey. We look forward to working with them to ensure our programme serves the needs of the kidney disease research community.”

Sandra Currie, chief executive of Kidney Research UK said: “There is still no cure for kidney disease meaning that prevention and early detection is critical in reducing the numbers of people who become kidney patients for life. Our Future Health’s ambitions and plans align directly with our strategic priorities of “prevent, protect and treat”, so we are delighted to have the opportunity to join forces on this exciting project. We look forward to working towards a collective goal and improve outcomes for kidney patients.”
